2020 is coming to an end, and the holiday season is upon us. The radio sings, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” Masked passers-by wish us happy holidays. We are reminded that we should reflect on all the good things in our lives. Yet, it is easy to wonder what to be thankful for this year, especially when this holiday season will be celebrated a lot differently than usual. When so many face what may be one of the most challenging years of their lives, and with a year full of tremendous uncertainty and challenges, it’s understandable to have harsh feelings and misgivings about 2020.
However, I was recently reminded that we can always find something for which to be grateful. As I reflect on the past year, so much brings me gratitude. I am surrounded by caring teammates that live the credit union motto “people helping people.” We are fortunate to serve healthcare workers – the most caring and giving people in the world, as they once again demonstrated this year.
We truly work in the service of heroes.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, volunteers, management, and Healthcare Systems Federal Credit Union staff, we wish you a happy holiday season and a healthy, prosperous, and peaceful new year!
Sincerely,
William R. Hawkins
